Corporation Accor - the leader of the hotel market in Europe. Its unit-Accor Hospitality - is the operator of more than 4 thousand hotels in over 100 countries around the world. Besides hotel business, Accor is also engaged in the market of tours and recreation, working with one of the largest tourist companies in the world - - Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

Accor Company operates hotels of the various price segments. Among its brands there are extra class hotels (Sofitel), as well as numerous budget chains, including well-known in Europe Formula 1 and Etap. Accor also owns such hotel chains as Novotel, Ibis, the chain of American roadside hotels Motel 6 and Suitehotel, which offers only suits. Overall, Accor’s portfolio includes 13 hotel brands. In addition to hotels, Accos also manages chains of restaurants, casinos and tourist agencies.

Accor is an implementation of one of the most famous success stories in the modern hotel industry. The first hotel of the company under the brand of Novotel was founded in 1967 near the French city of Lille. In 1973 the first predecessor of present-day Accor - Sphere S. A. holding – appeared. During its existence the first Ibis hotels were opened ad Mercury hotel chain was created. In 1979 the expansion of Novotel to the American market began. In 1982 Novotel-SIEH became sole and competent owner of the luxurious hotel chain Sofitel. Until 1983 the holding had been actively participating in the development of own hotel chain. In 1983 the company officially changed its name and status. From that time until the present day it serves as the Accor Corporation.

The main distinguishing features of Accor hotels, which enabled the corporation to become one of the leaders of the market – convenient parking, unobtrusive and attentive service, as well as, the desire to present their brand at all the levels of the modern hotel business. At present Accor owns hotels at almost all the price niches. The annual net income of the company exceeds 1 milliard dollars, and the amount of sales is about 12 billion dollars. The Accor’s hotel unit engages 200 thousand people.
