Paramount Hotel - one of the most famous hotels in New York, located in Manhattan near Times Square and Broadway - is now officially recognized as landmark of New York.

Paramount Hotel - is a massive construction, the main decoration of the facade of which is considered to be two-level arched apertures at the entrance. Inclusion of the Paramount Hotel in the official list of the attractions of New York was timed to the opening of the hotel after a long-term restoration.

Paramount Hotel was built by the architect Thomas Lamb in 1928. A similar architectural style can now be found in many theaters in the U.S., which were also designed by Lamb. At the same time Paramount hotel project was a single example of hotel design in the career of the architect.

Paramount Hotel has 600 rooms now. Paramount Hotel became a cult place for New York in the late 20th century. In 1988 the hotel was bought by Ian Shragerl, known for his innovative ideas in the field of hotel design. According to his order the famous designer Philippe Starck has totally changed the interior of Paramount. After 8 years hotel experienced another modernization, which touched the lobby area and cost about 7 million dollars. In 2004, Ian Shrager sold the hotel for 126 million dollars to the co-ownership of hotel chains Sol Melia and Hard Rock Café.

The latest renovation was completed at the Paramount Hotel in April 2009. The previous owner Ian Shrager actively participated in it. In June 2009 it was decided to review the candidacy of Paramount Hotel for inclusion to the official list of attractions of New York. Commission for the conservation of historical monuments in New York in autumn 2009 recognized the hotel as an architectural heritage of the "apple of the world."

Despite its impressive size, the Paramount Hotel is one of the first boutique hotels in New York, thanks to the unique design of rooms and interior.
