Club Med wants to open a ski resort in Argentina

Among the number of currently available resorts in Argentine Club Med are most interested in the neighborhood of Bariloche, Chapelko and in the most southern city of the world - Ushuaia.
Currently, Club Med is seeking a partner from the Argentine side. According to the plans of the travel company from France, the possible joint development of the resort would be a conversion of one of the currently existing hotels according to the standards of Club Med. However, to date the company was unable to find a hotel in Argentina, which meets the requirements of the company on quality infrastructure. If Club Med does not find a suitable hotel, which can be upgraded, the company will develop a resort from a zero. The minimum investment needed in this case will be about $ 25 million.
The main target clientele of the new Club Med hotel in Argentina will be tourists from Brazil. The French brand has already had the opportunity to provide their services on the market of Brazil. Today in Brazil 3 hotels by Club Med already offer their services to tourists in Itaparica, Trancoso and Rio das Pedras. In 2011, it is expected to open another hotel in the town of Buzios.

The main distinctive feature of the hotels by Club Med - the provision of services on an "all inclusive" system. In addition to luxury resorts Club Med also operates a chain of restaurants and fitness clubs. Club Med has recently started to develop a chain of budget hotels under the brand Oyyo. In due time, stocks of Club Med belonged to the largest French hotel company Accor. In 2006, Accor sold its share, deciding to concentrate on its own projects. Today, among the main investors of Club Med there is a number of major European companies - Italian Benetton and others.
