Hotel in Scotland paid £ 1000 for the huge carcass of a turkey, which was put up to one of the Christmas auctions in Aberdeen. According to the Scottish publication Press and Journal, the weight of the turkey, which was put up to auction, was over 80 pounds - this is roughly 40 kilograms. That's only 6 pounds less than the officially registered world record weight of the turkey.

Atholl Hotel – an owner of this super-bird - used the auction as some kind of advertising place, by organizing an active bidding with representatives of several Aberdeen restaurants. The hotel manager said that he was extremely happy to win and didn’t regret spent finances. Another enjoyable fact for the manager of Atholl Hotel was that the seller at the auction was a farming company, which is a constant supplier of products for the kitchen of the hotel.

It may seem that after paying such good money for a turkey, the Scottish hotel will find a special application for the bird. For example, giving this turkey to taxidermist, in order to put the stuffed bird afterwards in the hotel lobby before Christmas. However, the Atholl Hotel management decided to leave well enough alone. Therefore, this record-breaking turkey will be simply roasted. According to approximate estimates, the cooked turkey will be enough to feed no less than one hundred guests of a restaurant of the extravagant hotel in Scotland.

Aberdeen – is one of the largest cities in Scotland, the main port of this country. In addition to its economic aspect, Aberdeen is known due to the fact that Byron lived there for 10 years. Among the recent developments in the modern history of Aberdeen the construction of luxurious golf resort, performed by the famous American billionaire Donald Trump, around the city is worth noting,. The cost of the project, which involves the construction of two golf courses, a five-star hotel and villas, is estimated at one and a half billion dollars.
