The French hotel chain Accor intends to build a four-star hotel in Yalta. The Crimean company “Aerobud-Perspectiva " will act as the main developer, according to Crimean News.

Construction of a new hotel in Yalta is estimated at 45 million euros to date. It is planned that the hotel will receive a four star class. It is more likely that a new hotel will serve under the brand name Novotel on the hotel market of Yalta. Novotel in Accor's portfolio is represented by hotels for business travelers and hotels of above average class.

It is assumed that a new hotel in Yalta from Accor will be equipped with a spa and a spacious conference hall. The total number of rooms will be 250. The creators of the project intend to make the hotel attractive not only during the summer holidays in Yalta, but also in the winter. The hotel will be located in the historic part of town, on Polikurovski hill.

Accor plans to complete the project by 2013. It is expected that the opening of the new hotel will create 170 new jobs in Yalta.

It is worth noting that at one time a construction project of a hotel complex in Yalta, which was being developed by "Aerobud-Perspectiva" in 2006, faced a strong protest from the local population living in the area of Polikurovski hill. The main reason for dissatisfaction of the inhabitants of Yalta was the destruction of the green zone of Yalta and the elimination of suburban areas on the hillside. However, the city authorities of Yalta did not terminate the contract with the company, legitimate the terms of development of the historical part of Yalta.

To date, the hotel giant Accor, which is the largest hotel chain in Europe, works actively on the hotel market of Ukraine and Crimea as well. As is known, Ukraine is preparing to host the European football championship in 2012. So keen interest of Accor in developing of its chain in this region is quite understandable. In early December, company representatives reported that in the next few years over two dozen of budget 2 * hotels will be constructed in Ukraine. Hotels, under the brand Etap, are planned to be opened in Kiev, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Donetsk and Lvov. A company "Universal Investment Group" acts as a developer from the Ukrainian side. In addition to budget hotels, Accor intends to open 13 luxury hotels in Ukraine, including Sofitel and Novotel.
