From 18 to 20 January in Belgrade, in the Continental Hotel, the annual Congress of hoteliers and restaurateurs, organized by the International Association of Hotels and Restaurants – IHRA, will take place. The hotel congress in Belgrade will be the 47th one and attract representatives of hotel and restaurant business from Europe and the world.
Among the topics of the current congress in Belgrade - "The new definition of quality in the hospitality industry”. Also, hoteliers from around the world will discuss the development of hotels during the world financial crisis and post-crisis period, the environmental standards of hotels, hotel operation in conditions of a changing climate and other aspects of hotel activity. Either way, the revision of standards of hotel service promises to be one of the key issues to be raised at the Assembly of hoteliers - the central event within the framework of the Congress.
In addition to the Assembly, a variety of other activities will take place at the IHRA Congress in Belgrade. Emeraude Hotelier Award and Diamond Leaders Award - the ceremony of awarding companies and hotels, the best ones in their class, which are the members of the Association – will be among them. In addition, numerous workshops and discussions between representatives of the hotel business from different countries are planned during the Congress.
A dinner at the Royal Palace in Belgrade, tasting of wine from Montenegro and light show will be organized for participants of the Congress.
The main organizer of the Congress in Belgrade will traditionally be IHRA itself. This year sponsors of the Congress will be Air France and the Continental Hotel.
International Association of Hotels and Restaurants IHRA - is one of the oldest and most prestigious associations in the industry. It was founded in 1946. To date, this is the only organization that brings together hoteliers from all over the world. It represents the interests of about 200 000 hotels and 6 million restaurants. IHRA has received recognition at the highest international level and on the part of the UN as well. IHRA headquarters are located in Geneva.

Mövenpick: the first hotel on Bali
Chain of luxury hotels Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts became another major international player, which decided to enter the Indonesian hotel market. The company announced its plans to open a new hotel on Bali. Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran will be the first hotel of the network in Indonesia. Mövenpick hotel will be located on the south Bali near Jimbaran Bay.

Such an unexpected situation in the hotel market of the capital of Britain happened after the organizers of the 2012 Olympics refused to book accommodation for workers, visitors and journalists, who were to take part in service and coverage of the major sporting event of four years.

The most expensive ski hotel in the world is located in France
Suites de la Potiniere received the status of the most luxurious hotel after the average value of standard rooms at all luxury hotels participating in the study was calculated. During the study were taken into account prices offered by the hotels for the period from January to March 2012. The cost of a room in a five-star Suites de la Potiniere hotel was $1958 per night.
