A chain of capsule hotels Yotel, known due to its micro-hotels, which are barely larger than a matchbox, has announced its intention to open the first hotel of the chain outside Europe. Yotel has predictably chosen the “Big Apple” - New York - as a place for his new hotel. The new hotel by Yotel will appear in New York in 2011. It will be located in the center of Manhattan, in a busy area on the corner of 42th street and 10th Ave.

Yotel hotel chain repeats the concept of capsule hotels, first invented in Japan. The author of the idea of micro-hotels by Yotel - British entrepreneur Simon Woodroffe. In England Woodroffe is known as the author of a number of successful business projects, including a chain of sushi restaurants YO! Sushi, a chain of fitness centers YO! Spa and a chain of apartments in London under the brand YO! Home. Hotels under the brand Yotel - one of the latest projects of Woodroffe. The first two micro-hotels were open at the airports of London Gatwick and Heathrow. Another Yotel later appeared at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

The hotel in New York, which Yotel plans to open in 2011, will not be quite similar to its European counterparts. The main difference – rooms, which will be two times bigger than their analogs in Europe. The area of each room will be about 15 square meters. In addition, the hotel is truly a giant - it will house 669 rooms. For comparison, the hotel at Heathrow Airport was designed for 459 rooms.

In addition to"spacious" rooms, the hotel will offer a full service, the lack of which is noticeable in the European counterparts. Yotel in New York will offer its guests spas, meeting rooms, a restaurant, a terrace and a recreation area. The cost of rooms in the future hotel of Yotel is expected to start from $200 per room.
