The hotel chain Marriott International intends to open a new hotel in Jordan in 2013. JW Marriott Hotel will be built at Aqaba resort. The developer from the Jordanian side will be the company Beaches for Hotels & Spas P.S.C., a cooperation agreement with which the representatives of Marriott have signed in late February.
JW Marriott Aqaba will be the first hotel in Jordan to introduce the luxury brand of hotel real estate by Marriott in the country. JW Marriott will be the fourth hotel by Marriott in Jordan. To date services by Marriott are offered to guests of Amman Marriott in the Jordanian capital, Amman, Petra Marriott in the immediate vicinity of the main attraction of the country - Petra, as well as a resort on the Dead Sea - Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa.
The new JW Marriott will have 264 rooms. It will be located in one of the nicest places on the Red Sea - on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba. Aqaba and its coastal waters are very popular among diving enthusiasts due to a wide variety of underwater flora and fauna.
The hotel will be situated in the heart of Aqaba, a 10-minute drive from the international airport.
JW Marriott Aqaba will offer its guests a wide range of various services. Several pools, restaurants with national cuisines, the restaurant near the pier for yachts, a Turkish sauna, a spacious lobby, spa and yoga centers, children's play center will be among the distinctive features of the new hotel. The hotel will offer about 12 different stores and outlets for shopping lovers. For business travelers JW Marriott will offer the services of the business center.
Today Marriott Company is one of the most successful hotel chains of the planet. The Marriott’s portfolio contains dozens of different brands, including such world famous brands as Ritz-Carlton. In the 4th quarter of 2009 an increase of occupancy of Marriott hotels was observed. Marriott was one of the first major chains, which in 2010 has announced the restoring of profitability of its hotels.
