Scandic signed an agreement on the management of 4 hotels in Finland on the 11th of March 2010. Henceforth, the hotels, which were previously owned by the Finnish chain Next Hotels Finland Oy, will offer their services under the brand Scandic.

Scandic – is a Swedish hotel chain, one of the leaders of the hotel market in Scandinavia. To date, the chain includes 151 hotel. Scandic Hotels are located primarily in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Outside Scandinavia hotels of the chain can be found in Poland, Holland, Lithuania and Estonia.

The new deal will help Scandic to strengthen the position in the Finnish market. According to the agreement, signed between Scandic and Next Hotels Finland Oy, the Swedish hotel operator will manage Hotel Linnea in Riihimäki, Hotel Rivoli in Järvenpää and Hotel Salpaus in the neighborhood of Lahti ski resort. In line with the concept of Scandic hotels new members of the chain will receive several new branded services in addition to the existing options, such as such as around-the-clock stores and gyms.

Another Hotel - Scandic Paasi - will soon appear in Helsinki on the territory of Paasitorni Congress Centre. It is currently under construction. It is expected, that Scandic Paasi hotel will become the flagship of the chain in Finland. The opening of the hotel is scheduled for 2011. The primary clientele of the hotel will be business travelers. It can be explained, first of all, by the location of the hotel: Paasitorni Congress Centre is one of the most famous business and congress centers of the capital of Finland.

In total, Scandic chain is represented in Finland by 27 hotels. The number of employees in the company in Finland will reach 1000after the inclusion of new hotels in the chain.
