Hotels in Thailand: opening of the leading hotel chains

Hotels in Thailand, despite the still unstable political situation in the country, expect that 2011 will be a year of return to previous level of profitability. One of the confirmations for such optimism of Thai hoteliers can serve numerous openings at the resorts of Thailand hotels of the world leading hotel chains.

Among the most famous openings of the current season is the presentation of its first hotel in Thailand under the brand W. The latest brainchild of hotel giant Starwood is a hotel W Retreat Koh Samui at Koh Samui resort. The hotel consists of 70 villas located on a beautiful Menam beach. Opening of the new hotel was held today, on November 1, 2010. Among the special services of the hotel is “Taimazkal”, special Mexican spa treatment using Thai ingredients.

One of the key competitors of Starwood, Carlson Corporation, also on November 1, 2010, introduced its new hotel Radisson Suites Bangkok Sukhumvit in one of the most prestigious parts of the capital of Thailand, Sukhumvit district. Hotel with 150 rooms combines in design stylish interiors of Radisson brand with traditional Thai elements.

Nevertheless, Starwood is not going to lose its positions in the hotel market in Thailand. So, again in Bangkok in the same area of Sukhumvit in early 2011, another hotel brand of the networks - Aloft - plans to introduce its new hotel. The Aloft Bangkok promises to become the first hotel of the Aloft brand in the region of Southeast Asia.

In mid-October, the hotel chain Movenpick Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open in Thailand in the near future three new hotels. By 2014, the company expects to open its new hotels in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Ko Samui. Thus, according to prnewswire.com, the total number of hotels in Thailand under the control of the Movenpick network in 2014 will be amounted to 5 hotels.

On October 20, 2010, at the Ko Samui resort was presented luxury Absolute Sanctuary resort, which offers tours for lovers of healthy lifestyle. Detox & Yoga are the main services of the new resort.

It is worth to mention that hotels in Thailand in the south of the country are gaining increasing popularity and entice some tourists from the world famous Phuket and Pattaya.
