Azimut will manage the hotel in Krasnaya Polyana

One of the largest hotel chains in Russia - Azimut Hotels Company - has signed a contract with the developer of the ski “Rose Khutor” resort on the management of this three star hotel in Krasnaya Polyana.

A new hotel in Krasnaya Polyana should be built for the Winter Olympics in Sochi. It is planned that the hotel will be a part of the Olympic Village and will receive the sportsmen.

Azimut Hotels Company serves as one of the participants in the program for the construction of hotels at the biggest ski resort of Sochi. "Rose Khutor" company is a "daughter company" of the Russian holding “Interros”, whose president, one of the richest men in Russia, Vladimir Potanin acts as the main developer. In total, on the plateau of the resort, situated at an altitude of 1100 meters above sea level, is planned to build 10 new hotels. Some of them will be opened in 2012 and another part will be presented after the Olympics. The total project cost is estimated at 1.5 billion dollars. These data are presented on the pages of “Kommersant” newspaper.

Under the deal the official opening of the hotel of the Azimut Hotels Company brand will take place after the Olympics. The exact opening date is not given. The company said that most likely it will be the second quarter of 2012.

Azimut Hotels Company will be one of two Russian hotel brands represented at the resort. Another operator is Heliopark chain, which also will get control over a three-star hotel. Other hotels will be managed by foreign chains. As expected, two hotels will be given to the management of each of the following chains: the French group Accor, the American Rezidor and the Dutch Golden Tulip. Another hotel will be managed by a Swissotel chain.

To date, Azimut Hotels Company manages 12 hotels in Russia and 20 abroad and is one of the fastest growing networks of the country. Until 2014, the company plans to open in southern Russia at least three new hotels. In addition to Sochi, its hotels are to appear in Stavropol and Astrakhan. At the same time, the company is an active player in the secondary hotel real estate market. So, according to tourprom.ru, on November 2, 2010 Azimut Hotels Company acquired the right to control one of the best hotels in Voronezh - "Brno".
