Astoria St Petersburg has now a new manager

Famous hotel of St. Petersburg has a new manager. Rocco Forte Collection hotel chain has officially announced the appointment of Walter Neumann as general manager of the Astoria hotel in St Petersburg.
Walter Neumann was appointed as general manager of Astoria after resignation from the post of the chief operating director of Travel Charme Hotels & Resorts.
"We are very pleased that Walter Neumann headed Astoria hotel. We are confident that in the new position Walter will successfully implement his extensive experience in the hotel industry and in-depth knowledge of the Russian market ", - commented on the appointment of Walter Neumann director of The Rocco Forte Collection Martin Elsner.
In his new position, Walter Neumann will manage the work of one of the most luxurious and elegant hotels in St. Petersburg, where in each of the 210 rooms are successfully combined classic Russian style and modern design.
Being the attraction of St. Petersburg for nearly 100 years, Astoria has received many famous guests. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of St. Petersburg on Isaakievskaya Square, so from the windows of many rooms open spectacular views of the majestic St. Isaac's Cathedral, Hermitage, the Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theater, as well as other historical and cultural monuments of the city located in close proximity.
Walter Neumann is well acquainted with the peculiarities of the hotel market of St. Petersburg. For three years he headed the room management department in the Grand Hotel Europe, and then took part in the opening of the Clarion North Crown hotel as an assistant director. Then Walter held the position of head of marketing and sales of the Chesma International Tours & Business Travel.
During the past 13 years Neumann worked in his native Germany, where he held senior positions in the Lindner Hotels, Arabella Sheraton group, and recently in the Travel Charme Hotels & Resorts.
Walter Neumann received his MBA in tourism management. Fluent in Russian.
