Hyatt in Cologne was opened after reconstruction

In 2011 Hyatt Regency Cologne hotel re-opened its doors after the reconstruction. As a result of a large-scale reconstruction of the interior, including its 288 rooms and four Regency View suites, have a new look, which was created by professionals from the design bureau Hirsch Bedner Associates.

The main task of designers was to create modern and comfortable relaxing environment. It was reached through the use of pastel colors in the interior - muted gray and beige - which emphasize the glossy shine of lacquered surfaces and decorative elements of Makassar dark wood color. Upholstered furniture, carpets and curtains - all this abundance of fabrics and textures is also presented by soft muted tones, which creates the atmosphere of freshness and comfort. Wooden bordeaux window frames and graphical ornament of the carpets make bright accents in the decor of the rooms.

Special attention to details was the basis of a new design concept of the hotel. So, each room is equipped with cozy area for working and reading, which includes a desk, a chair, an armchair, a pouffe and a desk lamp with adjustable brightness. In the hall are installed large wall mirrors and lacquered console, convenient for keys, wallets and other important details that should always be at hand when leaving the room. At the last stage of interior designing Hirsh Bedner attracted leading architects and designers of our time. Thus, essential details in the decor of the rooms are black and white photographs from "Canyon" series by British artist Peter Defty, as well as hand-made decorative objects for Hyatt Regency Cologne made of GUAXS glass (Tubingen, Germany).

Due to its unique location on the banks of the River Rhine Hyatt Regency Cologne is a favorite place both among business travelers and tourists. The hotel is located next to the Cologne Gothic cathedral, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the third highest church in the world. Thanks to the panoramic windows in the rooms, tourists can admire this architectural piece of art without leaving the hotel.
