Already three hotel giants announced about the launch of its mega projects in Saudi Arabia. Jabal Omar Development Company - Saudi developer - has signed a contract with Marriott, Hyatt and Hilton on managing in total 12 hotels in Mecca.

The new hotel complex, which will be constructed in the cult Muslims city, is today one of the largest development projects in the global hotel market.

6 new hotels will be created by Hilton. So far, Hilton was presented in Saudi Arabia by only two hotels. Opening of new Hilton hotels will allow only Mecca to increase the number of room stock of the company up to 5000. Currently Hilton carries out a large-scale recruitment company for the future hotels. As noted by a number of Middle Eastern media, in total in order to ensure full activity of the new hotels the company will require 9000 people.

As for Marriott, by the end of 2014 the company plans to introduce three new hotels: luxurious JW Marriott Hotel Makkah for 636 rooms, Makkah Marriott Hotel for 545 rooms and Courtyard by Marriott Makkah for 432 numbers. Opening of 3 new hotels will allow the corporation to increase its presence on Saudi hotel market up to 11 hotels. Currently Marriott in Saudi Arabia has three hotels, five more are in various stages of readiness. After construction hotels will be united into a single complex, which will also include shopping malls, villas, etc.

Hyatt participation in the project also promises opening of three new hotels. In the project they presented as Hyatt Regency Mecca, Hyatt Place Mecca and Hyatt Summerfield Suites. Hyatt Regency Mecca opening is scheduled for 2013.
