IHG is growing in Britain

During the period from June 2010 to May 2011 IHG Hotel Corporation announced about launching of 19 new hotel projects in the UK under various brands.

Today IHG is one of the most active players in the UK hotel market. The company is actively expanding its presence and optimizing its services before a number of large events, the largest of which promises to become the 2012 Olympics in London. Among the recent global events is rebranding of one of the world largest networks - Holiday Inn.

19 IHG hotels in the UK, which should be opened in the next year or two under brands Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Hotel Indigo.

Among the new projects are mid-priced hotels and several luxury hotels. The latter, for example, include Crowne Plaza Resort Colchester Five Lakes, which IHG is going to introduce in summer 2011.

Another special opening is scheduled for spring 2012. Right before the Olympics in London will be created Staybridge Suites London Stratford hotel - suite hotel for 162 rooms, which windows will offer views of the Olympic Stadium.

Also among special openings of 2011 -2012 are 3 hotels under Indigo brand, 8 Holiday Inn hotels and 4 hotels of budget version of the brand - Holiday Inn Express.

At the same time European market is not the main for IHG. RevPAR indicator - revenue from sales of available rooms - grew up in the network’s hotels in Europe by only 0.5%. Nevertheless, the company plans to increase its presence in several European countries, including Russia, Turkey and Switzerland.
