This week hotels in the Turkish province of Hatay are experiencing a real tourist boom. It was caused by the arrival to this part of the country of famous actress Angelina Jolie. Jolie arrived in Turkey as a UN Goodwill Ambassador in order to visit the camp of the Syrian refugees - Hatay. Visit of the actress caused an increased interest among the Turkish public, who fully booked all hotels in the province.

Angelina Jolie travels around the world and helps people affected by natural disasters and armed conflicts over the last decade. Turkey will become Jolie's 21st country, which the actress will visit as part of her humanitarian mission.

The province of Hatay in southern Turkey was mentioned by the world news agencies after thousands of refugees from Syria crossed part of the Turkish-Syrian border near the town of Hatay. To date at four camps live from 9 to 11 thousand people.

Along with Angelina Jolie in Hatay came dozens of journalists, who will cover her visit. As expected, she will visit the refugee camp in Hatay on 17 June 2011. According to hurriyetdailynews.com, the actress has already received necessary permission from the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

Police of the Hatay province already operates in a special mode. In addition to the actress and the support group in the province arrived hundreds of Jolie fans. It seems that they booked most of the rooms in Hatay.

Hotels in the Turkish provinces are mainly presented by private hotels. Among the well-known networks are only Turkish group Dedeman, which operates a hotel in Antakya.
The Turkish province of Hatay since 1936 has been the subject of territorial disputes between Turkey and Syria. Syria agreed to accept Turkey's right for the territory only in 2005.
