One of the most famous US tourist magazines - Conde Nast Traveler - published on its pages another readers’ rating Reader's Choice, which determined the best world hotels in 2011.

This year's list of 100 best hotels is headed by the new hotel Ritz-Carlton Shanghai Pudong in Shanghai. The hotel, designed by the architect Cesar Peli, is located on 18 floors of the Shanghai IFC South Tower skyscraper. Opening of Ritz-Carlton Shanghai was one of the most celebrated and anticipated events of 2010 in a luxury hotel property sector. And in 2011 the novelty of one of the largest networks of luxury hotels around the world was rightfully awarded.

And if in the first case, the American hotel chain won the title of best hotel thanks to its hotel in Asia, the second place was occupied by the hotel of the Asian giant, which hotel is represented in the region of North America. Hong Kong hotel brand Peninsula Hotels - Peninsula House in the Dominican Republic - lost only four-tenths to Shanghai Ritz-Carlton.

Peninsula House is followed by three hotels representing the African continent: Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, Safari Lodges At Phinda Private Game Reserve in South Africa and Kirawira Luxury Tented Camp in Tanzania. It is worth noting that African hotels are regularly recognized as the best by various travel publications. One of the main competitors of Conde Nast Traveler - Travel = Leisure magazine - in the last year readers’ ranking named safari hotel in Kenya the best hotel in the world. As for the current rating, Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh and Safari Lodges At Phinda Private Game Reserve occupied 3-4 places with the same number of points.

It is worth noting hotels in Europe were not included into the top ten. The best hotel of the Old World was only on the 11th place. This is Culloden House in Scotland located in a former aristocratic mansion. In the rooms can be found real fireplaces, and the hotel is beautifully twined by the vine. Compared with other hotels, Culloden House looks like a "chamber" - there are only 28 rooms.
