13 hotels will be opened in Barcelona in 2012

Despite the global economic crisis, when many European countries face declining of the tourist flow, Spain is fully satisfied with the number of tourists in 2011. Instead of the planned 56 million tourists only for 10 months of this year the country was visited by 57 million people.

The Spanish Minister of Tourism Miguel Sebastian reported: "We can be quite relaxed about the future of tourism in our country". The highest level of foreign tourists was recorded in the Catalonia region in its capital Barcelona, where the number of tourists increased by 80% compared with 2010. It revived the hotel business and 13 new hotels for 990 rooms are to be opened in 2012. Most new hotels will be able to offer its visitors very reasonable prices. According to the Gremio de Hoteles de Barcelona representative, eight hotels will have will be four-star, four hotels - three-star and one will have five stars. The largest hotel for 160 rooms will be opened in the prestigious 22 @business district. Other hotels will be built in the Ciutat Vella - the historic center of Barcelona. On the Square Real, which is located in the Ciutat Vella quarter, will be built luxurious five-star hotel with 30 rooms. 4 more hotels will appear in the Catalan capital in 2013 and 2014.

After the 1992 Olympic Games Barcelona became especially popular and was literally flooded by the tourist crowds, whose number is increasing every year. It is quite fair as the city is the cultural center of the Iberian Peninsula, which is famous for its climate, culture, art, music, history, fashion, sports and inimitable atmosphere.
