One of the largest hotel chains in Spain Iberostar Hotels & Resorts increases its presence in Mexico. The company plans to invest $100 million into a hotel project at the Nayarit resort located on the Pacific coast of Mexico.

Riviera Nayarit is a tourist area located north of the Puerto Vallarta town. Riviera Nayarit resort area extends for 280 kilometers. It is famous for its numerous sandy beaches and the bay of Banderas, which is considered as one of the most beautiful bays in the world, as well as a place, where a lot of whales come every year.

Currently on the Riviera a lot of hotels and apartments are under construction. Iberostar hotel will be located at the Litibu resort. The company intends to build here a five-star hotel for 450 rooms. It is planned that the first guests will be received at the hotel at the end of 2013.

In addition to hotels other objects of tourist infrastructure are being constructed on the Riviera Nayarit. Among the new products is a golf course, designed by the renowned golfer Greg Norman. It is considered as one of the biggest on the entire Pacific coast of Mexico.

For Iberostar Mexico is one of the prior areas of network development outside Spain. Currently there are 9 hotels and a shopping center in Mexico under different company’s brands.

After the construction the hotel in Mexico will be assigned a class according to the latest classification system, introduced by Iberostar in May 2012. Hotels of the network are presented by four types: Iberostar The Grand Collection, Iberostar Premium Gold, Iberostar Premium and Iberostar. The main target group of the company’s hotels is adult tourists
