Sheraton hotel chain, which is part of the international hotel giant Starwood, provides its guests with the opportunity to be the first ones who will try out a new operating system Windows 7 by Microsoft. Thus, Sheraton hotels will strengthen its image as a hotel chain for business people. Customers of Sheraton hotels will try out a new OS Windows 7 before its official release, scheduled for October 22. In order to test Windows 7 in a number of Sheraton hotels HP computers of the latest series - Business TouchSmart - will be installed.

This new approach by Sheraton for building a business image of the chain is a part of a large-scale campaign for revitalizing of the image of Sheraton in the travel world. This campaign has already become one of the most ambitious and costly in today's hospitality industry. About $ 6 billion were planned to be invested at the Sheraton brand's revival. Approximately 2.3 billion dollars will be spent on the opening of new hotels under the brand name Sheraton, one and a half million will be invested into the modernization of existing Sheraton hotels, and another 400 million - in a variety of events aimed to enhancing of the image of Sheraton in the regions of the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The presentation of the new Windows 7 at Sheraton is just one of those marketing mixes, known as Link @ Sheraton. The promotion is performed by the company in close cooperation with Microsoft. Link @ Sheraton represents a special concept of equipping the lobby area by means of computer communication, allowing guests of Sheraton hotels to stay touch with their families, colleagues and friends during the trip. Before presenting Windows 7 to its customers, Sheraton has already been using Microsoft software on computers in the lobbies of Sheraton hotels around the world. These include search engine Bing, Microsoft Office package, Microsoft LifeCam and other solutions. Testing of the new Windows 7 will be possible only in the hotels of the U.S. and Canada. In total, 50 Sheraton hotels New York, Seattle, Toronto, Boston and other cities will take part in the promotional campaign.

Presentation of Windows - is far from being the only action that Sheraton has taken in order to draw attention of hotel services consumers. Thus, in late September 2009 Sheraton hotel chain announced a campaign, in the bounds of which guests will be able to spend one night in luxury Sheraton hotels, located in the United States.

Today Sheraton hotel chain is represented in Russia by Sheraton Palace Hotel 5 * in Moscow. In the nearest future they plan to open another hotel in Russia, but this time in Rostov-on-Don, which will be called Sheraton Rostov-on-Don. Opening of the hotel is planned in March 2012. Also, the company intends to build a five-star Sheraton hotel in Sochi before the 2014 Olympics.
