A rapidly developing Turkish hotel chain - Divan Hotels presented its new hotel in Istanbul. The official opening of Divan Istanbul Asia was held on the 14th of December 2009. New hotel Divan Istanbul Asia became the third hotel in Istanbul, representing Divan Hotels brand in one of the largest cities in Turkey.
The total cost of the construction project of the hotel was about $ 120 million. The new hotel has become the largest hotel in the Asian part of Istanbul. Divan Istanbul Asia received a five stars class. It has 230 rooms, several conference halls, spa complex, a banquet hall for 500 people and a bar for 200 people. The hotel has very favorable location. Office buildings of large companies and big industrial enterprises are situated in close vicinity of the hotel.
In addition to the convenient location in terms of business tourism, Divan Istanbul Asia can be also very interesting to fans of Formula 1. The hotel is located in close proximity to the Istanbul Park, where Turkish Grand Prix takes place. Besides that, Sabiha Gokcen International Airport is located near the new hotel.
The main investor of the construction of the hotel is Şahsuvaroğlu Group - the company representing automobile industry in Turkey.
As for the hotel chain Divan Hotels, the opening of the new hotel in Istanbul allowed it to increase the number of its hotels in Turkey to 6. In addition to hotels in Istanbul, Divan Hotels can be found in Ankara, Antalya and Bodrum. The main niches, where Divan Hotels strives to present their hotels - is luxury and business-class hotels.
Among the short-range plans of the company is the opening of at least three hotels in Turkey in the Asian as well as in the European parts of the country in early 2010. In addition, in 2011 the company intends to open a new hotel in Iraq, the cost of construction of which, according to preliminary estimates, will be about $ 90 million.
Divan brand is known in Turkey for 14 areas of activity, including the hotel business. It was presented for the first time in 1956. Today, among the subdivisions of the company - large industrial enterprises in Turkey, enterprises of the business and agricultural sectors.
