Hotel in Copenhagen offers to treadle for food

Recently opened in Copenhagen hotel Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers from the very beginning declared itself as one of the most important accommodation facilities of the city. And the case is not only that the Crowne Plaza is one of the tallest buildings in the capital of Denmark. The hotel of one of the largest hotel chains in the world IHG has positioned itself as an environmentally-friendly hotel. And some of the initiatives offered by the hotel look revolutionary even in comparison with the ensuing worldwide struggle for a cleaner environment.

It is an innovation, which management of the hotel intends to introduce for its guests. The essence of innovation: a special pedal generator, which will be set in the hotel, allows guests to pedal like on an ordinary exercise bicycle, and thereby generating energy, which will be used to light the hotel. Not only has the device itself drawn the attention, but the hotel offer: every guest who will be able to make on a generator at least 10 watt-hours, will receive the prize in the form of specially prepared dish from ecological products. According to Reuters, the guest will be able to choose any of the dishes of the restaurant of the hotel, which cost less than $ 44.

It is planned that the hotel will be fitted with 2 special simulator-generators, which will be used by guests as a fitness tool and as an environmentally clean source of electricity, and as a way to earn a living. Simulators are to be set at Crowne Plaza on 19 April. During the year the hotel will check on the viability of a new idea. If test results will be satisfactory, IHG promises to introduce the Danish know-how in other hotels of Crowne Plaza brand.
