Shangri-La will open a hotel in Tibet

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts hotel chain announced its plans to open a new hotel in Tibet in 2012. The network promises to open hotel in Lhasa - the capital of Tibet. The new hotel will be one of the most highland hotels of Shangri-La chain. As you know, Lhasa is located at an altitude of about 4000 meters above sea level.

The new hotel promises to be one of the largest hotels in Tibet. According to preliminary plans the hotel will be designed for 350 rooms. Each of them will offer guests spectacular views of mountain peaks, lakes and valleys of Tibet.

Location is another plus, which will offer its customers a new hotel of Shangri-La. It will be located in the center of Lhasa, in the immediate vicinity of the biggest attractions of Tibet: the Potala Palace, "Iron Mountains" of Chokpori, 18th century summer palace and the Tibet Museum.

In the interior design of a new hotel in Lhasa from Shangri-La will be used traditional Tibetan architectural motifs. At the same time, the traditions of Tibet will be combined with modern technologies and the latest technological innovations in the field of solutions for hotel rooms. The minimum area of rooms will be from 36 square meters. Some rooms will have a picturesque view of the Potala Palace.

Service in the new hotel in Tibet prepares to exploit the local cultural characteristics. For example, when meeting the guests the hotel staff will adhere to the traditional Tibetan ritual greetings. Each guest will be treated with special Tibetan tea. When designing the hotel creators will also take into account features the Tibetan highlands, for acclimatization in which tourists usually require several days. The picturesque gardens that surround the hotel, in addition to its aesthetic function will perform very specific tasks: supplemental oxygen to eliminate its deficit in the high mountains. Also to the guests’ services will be hospital, where guests can receive advice and treatment from specialists.

Swimming pools, recreation club, a Chinese restaurant, spacious banquet halls - all this can be found in the new hotel Shangri-La.
It is expected that a new hotel in Lhasa will become a symbol of relaxation and comfort for those who travel to holy places of Tibet and the Himalayas.
