The first 5* hotel in Turkey celebrates its anniversary

Turkey's first five-star hotel Hilton Istanbul has recently celebrated its anniversary. For celebrations of the 55th anniversary of the first luxury hotel in Turkey arrived celebrities from all over the world. Gala evening in honor of the anniversary was held at the hotel on June 30, 2010. Among the guests were the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, the heads of the largest Turkish companies, as well as the President of Hilton Worldwide Christopher Nasset.
For the Hilton hotel chain Hotel Hilton Istanbul is the first hotel property, opened by the company outside the U.S. The founder of the Hilton empire, Conrad Hilton, planning the opening of its first hotel in the early 50's made a massive tour of Europe in order to identify the country where to built the first Hilton Hotel on the continent. In the end, the strategic position of Istanbul, its critical importance for trade and business in Europe, made Conrad Hilton to stop on the former capital of the Byzantine Empire.
During the celebration of the anniversary of the first luxury hotel in Turkey from the scene of Hilton Istanbul were heard many speeches of thanks from many of the representatives of Turkish business for having helped to open the Hilton Istanbul to the world and open up a whole world for the Hilton. After opening the hotel in Istanbul, Hilton was able to open hotels in 70 more countries around the world.
Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay stressed that the opening of the Hilton hotel in Istanbul half a century ago was a landmark event, which allowed the country to become eventually one of the leading players in the global tourism market. For the past few years Istanbul hosts a 4-6 million tourists annually. In general, Turkey is counting on the fact that in 2010 it resorts will be visited by more than 30 million people.
Hotel is located in the central part of Istanbul. The restaurant is known for one of the best views on the Bosphorus, which opens with from its famous restaurant Bosphorus Terrace. In addition to the hotel in Istanbul Hilton Hotels in Turkey is presented in a total by 10 hotels, which act under various brands.
