Spain's largest hotel chain Sol Melia reports about profit growth of its hotels around the world for the 3rd quarter of 2010. Sol Melia profit for this period is amounted to little more than 71 million euros, which is for 51% more than during the same period of the last year.

In addition to increased profitability hotels of the network in 2010 also succeeded in sales. During the first 9 months sales of Sol Melia constitute 976 million euros compared with 899.9 million for the same period last year.

Sol Melia hotel chain is one of the most stable operators among the world's major chains. For example, one of the key indicators of the industry - RevPAR (profit of one room) - has shown a positive trend for Sol Melia and grew for 7.7% in September.

Sol Melia is one of the fastest growing networks in Europe. Hotels are presented in segments of the luxury hotels at the resorts and business hotels in major metropolitan centers. Sol Melia is represented not only in Spain. It is also represented on the hotel market in Latin America. There are hotels in Germany, France and Croatia. Not so long ago the company began operations in the U.S. market by opening its first hotel in Atlanta. And not so long ago the company has transferred the right to control the budget of the hotel chain to the hotel giant Wyndham.

Today, in various stages of building are 27 hotels of Sol Melia worldwide. Its total number of rooms is more than 7000. Most of these hotels will be managed by Sol Melia or controlled under the franchise agreement.

To date, Sol Melia is the third largest hotel chain in Europe and the twelfth in the world.
