Thailand continues to attract major hotel companies from around the world. Thus, on 17 March 2011 one of the monsters of the hotel industry, Starwood, announced its intention to open two new hotels in Patong, on the Phuket Island.

Under the agreement signed between Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and real estate development company Fisherman Harbour Company Limited, till 2014 to the Starwood portfolio in Thailand will be added new Four Points by Sheraton and Aloft.

Four Points by Sheraton is a classic brand of the Starwood corporation, which service and comfort level is valued on virtually all continents. Four Points by Sheraton offers its services primarily in the niche of four-star hotels.

At the same time new Aloft is a hotel with supernovae design solutions in interior as well as in the approach to organizing services.

In preparation for the deal on opening two new hotels in Phuket Starwood relied on the support of the international consulting agency CB Richard Ellis.

Thailand today is regaining the position of one of the leading tourist centers in Asia after the riots, which lasted in this country during 2009. For example, in 2010 Phuket International Airport saw an increase in passenger traffic by 22%. The number of tourist arrivals to the resorts of Phuket was 3.5 million.

For Starwood Phuket is not a Terra Incognita. On the island are opened three hotels, which represent the network’s luxury hotels - Sheraton Grande Laguna, Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort, as well as opened in 2010 The Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa.
