Iceland

Hotels in Iceland. The northernmost EU country offers vacations that are difficult to find in any other point on the globe. The landscape of Iceland is unique due to the world-known geysers, beautiful waterfalls and volcanoes, some of which, as it turned out, are able to provide a lot of problems throughout Europe. Iceland hotels have discreet Scandinavian practicality, guest houses, cozy homes and designer hotels, which give the opportunity to experience the full harsh grandeur of the "ice island".

Hotels in Iceland: Scandinavian motifs

In the Iceland hotels are repeated all the traditional habits of Scandinavians, which can be found in many hotels in Sweden, Norway or Denmark. Comfort, which is thought over to details, excellent quality of food, mandatory services for rehabilitation, spa facilities, swimming pools and saunas. The fact that Iceland is a "torn" Scandinavia is proved by the presence of Scandinavian hotel brands in the local market, among which the largest number of hotels belongs to Radisson. In Iceland there is its own hotel chain - Fosshotel.

Hotels in Iceland with national flavor

In Iceland, taking into account population density and dispersion of the attractions, dominated not large hotels, but small family hotels in small villages and towns. And these hotels are able to offer tourists not only a room for the night. Almost each of them has additional services, whether it is sauna, which is important in the Far North, or rental of tourist equipment. At the same time many such hotels in Iceland offer tourists experience of acquaintance with the real Icelandic way of life.

Hotels in Iceland: "bathing suites"

A distinctive feature of hotels in Iceland is the so-called "bathing suits". Iceland is known for abundance of geysers and geothermal sources, so virtually in every city, including the capital Reykjavik, are hotels that offer a special package, which includes in addition accommodation visiting of the geothermal pool or bathing in hot springs.

High season in Icelandic hotels

High season for hotels in Iceland starts in late June and ends in mid-August. It is not difficult to guess that during this time country's hotels offer the highest rates of the year. Another price peak in the hotels of Iceland is Christmas and New Year. In addition to the festivities people come here to admire the polar lights.

Why go to Iceland?

So why should people go to Iceland, the country where the harsh climate prevails most part of the year? The main reason is its natural attractions. The highest waterfall in Europe - Glimur, Gulfoss Falls, Detifoss waterfall, Blue Lagoon (spa resort on the thermal lake near the geothermal power station), rocky coast of Latrabjarg, craters of Laki and, more recently, Eyjafjallajokull volcano.
