Accommodation in Kvinlog
When choosing a hotel stay in Kvinlog, cross-country skiing and motorsport history offer two different points of interest. The village has illuminated ski trails and a loop intended for year-round activities; its motorsport history dates back to 1988. The wider destination of Kvinesdal has additional visitor attractions of a different kind.
Cross-country ski trails in Kvinlog
An approximately two-kilometre-long illuminated trail is centrally located in Kvinlog and is family-friendly. It is near a gas station and a grocery store. The trail network in Kvinlog is reported to total approximately five kilometres. Kvinlog is one of four places in the municipality of Kvinesdal where cross-country ski trails are groomed.
If you plan to use groomed trails, check for current information with the local club. This lets you factor grooming updates into your plans without assuming that the reported length of the trail network reflects its current grooming status.
A trail for year-round activities
A new, year-round trail opened in Kvinlog in October 2024. Its asphalt surface is intended to enable activities throughout the year; the facility was adapted for children of all ages. The loop is in the village centre, next to the school and multi-purpose hall. At the time, the hall was scheduled to open at Christmas.
The short illuminated trail and the trail network offer different reference points for cross-country skiing in Kvinlog. The paved loop complements these local options with a concept expressly designed for year-round activities. When planning, you can therefore distinguish between the approximate length, lighting and stated use of each trail.
Motorsport and local history
Nedre Kvinlaug Motorstadion has a 680-metre track with a surface made up of 60 percent gravel and 40 percent asphalt. These specifications are set out in the 2025 summer racing regulations; they may change if the facility is modified. Alongside its ski trails, Kvinlog therefore has a motorsport attraction of its own.
Kvinlog-Banen was built in 1988 in Nedre Kvinlaug, in the then-municipality of Fjotland. Himmelspretten in Kvinlog also has a long history.
