W Hotel will be opened in Kuala Lumpur

Starwood hotel chain and Dijaya Corporation Bhd developer signed an agreement according to which in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur will be opened design hotel of the W brand. Opening of the hotel is planned for 2016.

Ownership of and right to manage the hotel will be divided between the partners. Starwood Hotels & Resorts will serve as the management company.

New hotel will be located near the main road to Kuala Lumpur - Jalan Ampang. The hotel will neighbor with two skyscrapers of the Malaysian capital - Petronas Twin Towers. According to the project, new W Kuala Lumpur will be designed for 150 rooms and spacious ball-room, as well as five conference rooms.

W hotel brand is one of the newest hotel concepts of Starwood. W hotels combine luxury service and special modern design. To date, the main competitor of W hotel brand is Edition by Marriott.

W Hotels are opened mostly in major tourist centers of the world. Recently were presented W London hotel, which was able to gather at a solemn ceremony on the occasion of its opening many celebrities, including Kate Moss and Boy George.

As for the Starwood hotel chain, for this company Asian market remains one of the prior areas for development. Not so long ago the company announced its plans to open two new resort-hotels on the island of Phuket in Thailand. Another W hotel is planned to be opened in Mumbai (India) in 2015. In total in 2011 the company intends to open 25 hotels, 16 of them - in China.
