Most hotels of the country will reconsider their pricing policy, and reduce prices in order to preserve occupancy of hotels. Montenegro is obliged to lower prices in order to keep pace with competitor countries. It is known that the popular Mediterranean regions, like Turkey, Greece and Tunisia have already announced their plans to reduce the cost of hotel rooms up to 30% comparing to the previous season.
A number of hotels in Montenegro have already reduced the value of their services. For example, hotels of a well-known in resort of Herceg Novi have become «cheaper» by an average of 10-12%. This concerns not only the price of rooms, but also related services. Food became cheaper in hotels, some hotels in Herceg Novi has decided to include the cost of beach service in the price.
Many hotels Montenegro are not so scared of crisis. Perhaps they are inspired by last year's success of the country on the world tourist market. Therefore, management of these hotels is going to maintain the same level of prices, which, if necessary, can be made more attractive through various activities, whether it will be «hot» tourist vouchers, «all inclusive» packages at a price of a standard package or seasonal discounts. Rightly or wrongly, many hotels in Montenegro are in no hurry to panic and think that will have time to adjust prices quickly. Authorities of Budva are still looking forward to the early repayment of 38 million, which local they have allocated from budget to the construction of new hotels of Budva Riviera.
