Hotels in Spain did not have its gem. And recently the Spanish press reported that in the near future the hotel industry of Spain will, at last, get a true jewel in its crown. The first 7-star hotel in Spain will appear in the country in 2013. It will be built at the resort of Almuñécar, in the province of Granada, on the coast of the Costa Tropical resort. This hotel is one of the first hotels in Europe of such a high category. To date, the continent has only one hotel, which can boast of seven stars - Town House Galleria in Milan.

A new ambitious project will be realized by the Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts hotel chain. The future hotel was named Bahía Fenicia – “Phoenician Bay”. The project cost is estimated at 230 million euros. As expected, the hotel's construction will create on the Costa Tropical 600 new jobs.

For the construction of the hotel authorities of the Spanish coast have allocated 13,000 square meters of land. The hotel is located on the famous beach Almuñécar Marina del Este. It will be designed for 200 rooms with a total area of 32,000 square meters. It is expected that the construction of a new hotel will begin in early 2011, when all necessary formalities will be settled.

The class of “7 star” hotels is an indicator of the highest level of recreation. It is worth noting that the official classification of hotels according to the World Tourist Organization provides the highest level of five stars. Nevertheless, on this planet exist for more than 10 hotels, which define its service as "7-star" level. The first 7-star hotel in the world is Dubai's famous hotel Burj Al Arab.

The Banyan Tree Hotels hotel chain was founded in 1994. Today it is one of the most famous networks of luxury hotels, most of which are represented in Asia. Its first hotel Banyan Tree Hotels was introduced in Thailand. Today, Banyan Tree Hotels operates 91 hotels worldwide. By 2013 the company plans to increase the number of hotels under its brand name to 157.
