Spanish hotel chain NH Hoteles on March 14, 2011 opened two hotels in Turin. Hotels, which were created by an architect Renzo Piano, opened in the Lingotto district of Turin, which is known as a former Fiat industrial zone.
It is worth noting that NH Hoteles did not build the building from scratch. Hotels came under the control of NH Hoteles from another hotel chain - Le Meridien. From March 14 hotels offer their services under the brands NH Lingotto 4* and NH Lingotto Tech 5*. Previously hotels were known as Le Meridien Lingotto and Le Meridien Turin Art + Tech.
Lingotto district in Turin is one of the most famous urban zones in Italy, which the famous French architect Le Corbusier called the etalon of urban area organization. Today Lingotto is considered to be the center of fashion, culture and shopping in Turin.
Both hotels are unique examples of modern architecture. Creator of hotel projects - architect Renzo Piano - is considered to be the founder of the high-tech style. He was responsible for the reconstruction of the plants not only in Turin, but also in Milan and Paris.
NH Lingotto now offers unique experience of exploring the best hotels in Italy. NH Lingotto is an unusual hotel. There is a unique fitness center, which is located on the roof of the building, which once served as a test track for the Fiat cars. NH Lingotto is decorated with a large glass La Bolla dome. The hotel houses the permanent exhibition of paintings from the Agnelli family collection. Here you can find the works of many famous artists: from Canaletto to Matisse.
The interiors, which have stepped into reality from the pages of science fiction, present NH Lingotto Tech 5*. NH Lingotto Tech 5* is a unique fusion of former industrial areas and high technologies. Also in NH Lingotto Tech tourists can book one of the best rooms in Turin - presidential suite with stunning view over the city.
It is worth noting that the opening of the famous hotels under the NH Hoteles brand is timed to the beginning of celebrations in Turin on the occasion of 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy. Turin, which is the first capital of unified Italy, will begin to celebrate on March 17, 2011. On the portal city-of-hotels.com hotels in Turin are available for online booking.
