Hotels in Prague and Rome - the biggest price increase in April 2011 among European hotels

Prices for hotels in Europe are gradually returning to pre-crisis indicators. According to the trivago portal, prices for the hotels in the Old World on average in April were $170 per night.

The biggest price increase, according to the portal, was shown by hotels in the Czech Republic, Turkey and the Netherlands. Hotels in the Czech Republic were leaders in price increase. In this country, the average cost of night in the hotel has grown by 49% compared with March 2011. At the same time, the largest number of proposals was registered in Spain, Portugal and Turkey.

Resort hotels have different trends. Some of them suffer fall and some of them enjoy growing. So, Majorca hotels at the resort of Alcudia fell by 24%. Average price of the room here is $70. Turkish hotels at the resort of Alanya fell by 9% - up to $72, in Side - by 5% up to $74 on average per room. Hotels in Alicante, Albufeira, Algarve, Madeira suffer decrease in the average cost of the night. Competition between hotels on the eve of the summer season intensifies.

Against the background of falling prices for traditional areas of summer holidays, there is increase in prices of major city hotels throughout Europe. Among the leaders are hotels in Prague (44%), Rome (33%) and Amsterdam (27%). Hotels in Seville increased in price by 38% on the eve of one of the major tourist events of the city - pre-Easter processions Semana Santa.

In general prices for services in European hotels allowed hotel industry reach the level exceeding October 2009 - the month of the biggest fall of prices for hotels in Europe.

We should not forget that growth of rates in major European cities is linked largely with seasons. Spring is a time of exhibitions and heightened business activity, when most hotels traditionally raise prices in anticipation of an influx of business travelers.
