In the beginning of 2012 are summed up 2011 results. Among the numerous season prizes and awards in the hotel industry one of the most notable was the TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice prize.

TripAdvisor published a list of the best world hotels in 2011 based on users’ reviews. This year were especially popular small private hotels and hotels provided by independent hotel chains. Such giants as Marriott and Hilton were outside the list.

According to TripAdvisor, including of major hotel chains into the list of the best 2011 hotels is rather exception than a rule. Hotel business marks a new next era of its development - transition from large hotel complexes to small luxurious and boutique hotels. It concerns both the global market and the U.S.

Another trend is expansion of the Asian hotel chains to the new markets in Europe and the USA. Among the most successful networks are Shangri-La, Mandarin Oriental and Jumeirah. It is explained not so much by the fashion for orient things, but perfect quality, design and wide range of services. Another proof is the title of the "Best luxury hotel in the world" won by Shangri-La Hotel in Tokyo.

However, not only Asians were able to strengthen its position in the current year. Among the best hotels in the United States, according to TripAdvisor’s users, are two hotels of such giant of hotel business as Four Season.

It should be noted that TripAdvisor divided the participants into two groups. The first group included the world's best hotels, the second - the best hotels in the United States.

City-of-hotels.ru portal published the list of the world best hotels, which won the TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice prize:
