Tilyar Lake: lake and leisure activities
Tilyar Lake is in Rohtak district in the state of Haryana, near the city of Rohtak, and covers 132 acres. Boating is possible on its large expanse of water. The lake also has a mini-zoo and a children's railway. Large green lawns are provided for sitting and playing; a small Columbus ride is intended for adults. The lake thus offers a range of activities: boating on the water, as well as sitting and playing on the lawns, complemented by other facilities.
Splash Water Park in Rohtak
Splash Water Park is a five-acre water park. It is in Rohtak, near Sukhpura Chowk on Delhi-Hisar Road, and offers entertainment. In terms of area, the 132-acre Tilyar Lake is much larger than the park; the two destinations also differ in type: one is a water park, the other a lake where you can go boating. Check current operating information before visiting.
Baoli and historic sites
The baoli in Meham has 101 steps and rooms near the well. An inscription on a marble slab records that Sidu, a chobdar, had it built in 1656–57. The baoli is made of kankar (gravel) and sandstone. Meham is 30 km west of Rohtak. Its steps, rooms, and building materials give the structure a distinct architectural character; the inscription links it to a named builder and a specific year.
In the wider Rohtak destination area, the small Pirzada Mosque is south of Jama Masjid. According to its inscription, it was built during Babur's reign by Sheikh Yasaf from Hisar. While the baoli's inscription records the years 1656–57, the mosque's inscription dates its construction to Babur's reign and names Sheikh Yasaf from Hisar. The two sites thus offer different historical points of reference.
