Several different attractions come together in Bělá u Jevíčka: pilgrimage and sacred buildings, local history, the Bělásek nature trail, a cycling route, and a small water reservoir. If you are looking for a hotel for your trip, deciding what interests you most can help you choose your destination. The town’s attractions range from religious tradition and historic buildings to specific activities.

Pilgrimage, Buildings, and Local History

The local pilgrimage tradition includes a Mass at the Church of St. Bartholomew. It connects a religious practice with a specific church.

The statue of St. John of Nepomuk is tied to a specific local story: in 1846, Vavřinec and Anna Maria Knödlovi had it brought from Prague and erected in front of their house, No. 10. Its plinth has volute-shaped wings; a relief depicts the saint being thrown into the Vltava. The monument brings together the story of its erection and details of its visual and architectural design.

The small chapel with a bell tower in Malonín, located by farmstead No. 124, has an Art Nouveau design and dates from 1903. In Smolná, the chapel with a bell tower was built in 1904 and has a square floor plan. There, the chapel and the adjacent fire station together form a local landmark. The two chapels can thus be distinguished by their different design features and their respective settings.

A memorial to the victims of the First World War adds a place of remembrance to the sacred buildings. The sanatorium complex has been protected as a cultural monument since April 1, 2016; its registration number is 105817.

The dates also serve different purposes: 1846 marks the erection of the statue, while 1903 and 1904 are the years the chapels were built. For the sanatorium complex, April 1, 2016, marks the start of its monument protection. The cultural attractions therefore range from religious practice and architecture to remembrance and heritage protection.

Nature Trail and Cycling Route

The Bělásek nature trail was restored in 2024–2025 and is about 6 km long. It has nine information panels and three educational features for children. Another route option is the approximately 21 km “Skrz Maló Hanó” cycling route, which passes through Bělá u Jevíčka, where the town serves as a junction. This lets you choose activities by type and length: a shorter nature trail with information and features for children, or a longer cycling route.

Smolná Water Reservoir

The small Smolná water reservoir is used as a natural outdoor swimming pool. If swimming is part of your plans, please check current bathing conditions and facilities on site before your visit. Alongside the historic and sacred attractions, this offers a separate focus on water-based leisure.
