Nový Přerov offers several focal points for a stay: cycling, winegrowing, local history and steppe landscape. Specific information about routes, culture and nature can help you assess the destination according to your interests.

Cycling Circuit and Bus Connections

The 26.7-kilometer Mikulov–Nový Přerov–Mikulov cycling circuit passes through Mikulov, Březí, Dobré Pole and Nový Přerov. It runs mostly away from motorized traffic and is suitable for families with children as well as inline skaters. If you plan to ride the circuit, check the conditions before setting out.

Bus connections from Nový Přerov run toward Mikulov and Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou. The service is therefore not limited to just one of these two directions. If you plan to travel by bus, check the timetable for your travel date.

Winegrowing and Wine Exhibition

The municipality covers a total of 610 hectares, of which 120 hectares are vineyards. These figures give you a specific indication of the role of winegrowing in the local landscape: vineyards make up part of the municipal area, but not all of it.

A specific event date is May 3, 2025: on that day, the Winemakers' Association held the 26th edition of the traditional wine exhibition in Nový Přerov. If events are part of your travel interests, please check the dates for your travel year rather than assuming the date given applies to a later period.

Church and Historical Monuments

The Church of St. Michael the Archangel developed from a Baroque chapel built in 1600 and enlarged into a church about 90 years later. Inside the church is a sandstone cross depicting Christ, dating from 1847. This gives you two distinct aspects of the church to explore: its architectural history and a dated work of art inside.

Other historical points of interest include the statue of St. John of Nepomuk in the village square, which is a cultural monument, and a statue of St. Florian in front of the town hall. The information distinguishes between the statue in the village square, which is explicitly designated as a cultural monument, and the location of the statue of St. Florian at the town hall. If you are interested in local history, you can consider the church's architecture, interior and statues as separate topics.

Steppe Landscape and Protected Flora

Steppes with halophytic, or salt-loving, vegetation lie north of Nový Přerov. Another named natural feature is Přerovský vrch, near the Austrian border. It has notable examples of steppe vegetation with protected thermophilous flora. The two descriptions refer to different vegetation features and geographical locations.

For the Lange Wart area, a municipal notice updated in 2025 announced a plan to designate it a natural monument. The area is given as approximately 2 hectares. The aim is to protect dry grassland plant communities as well as specially protected plant and animal species. In this notice, the designation was a plan; it does not describe an existing status as a natural monument.

A Specific Place to Visit with Children

If you are traveling with children, Jáňův dvůr has a small animal area where visitors can interact with domestic animals. This adds a specific activity for younger travelers to the other highlights mentioned. Together with the cycling circuit, which is suitable for families with children, there are two explicitly family-oriented options, each of a different kind.
