Romania

Holidays in Romania, hotels in Romania

Hotels in Romania mostly maintain the reputation of holidays in Romania as inexpensive and modest. The variety of landscapes in Romania - Black Sea, Carpathian Mountains, lakes, the Danube Delta and many Romanian attractions, among which is the famous Dracula Castle in Transylvania - did not affect the overall level of prices in Romanian hotels. Prices for hotels in Romania are often even lower than in neighboring budget Bulgaria.

Hotels on the Black Sea in Romania presented mostly by 3* class are scattered along the coast. Luxury resorts of Romania include Mangalia, Constanta and Mamaia. Hotels at these Romanian resorts are also presented luxury 4-5* class: Vega Hotel 5* in Mamaia, Cherica Hotel 4* in Constanta, and others. In Mamaia almost the entire first line is given to expensive hotels.

Budget coastal resorts of Romania are Eforie Nord Jupiter, Cap Aurora, Venus, Saturn and Neptun-Olimp. Local hotels are mostly presented by facilities inherited from the Warsaw Pact time. However, tourists should not prepare for the worst when going on holiday to Romania. Even modest double rooms have TV and refrigerator. But the main advantage of almost all the hotels on the Romanian Black Sea coast is proximity to the beach. Almost all Romanian hotels are on the first line. Hotels are 20 minutes walk from the sea and it is a rarity.

Each seaside resort of Romania has certain reputation. So, Neptun-Olimp is a youth rave resort, flat bottom near the beaches in Venus and Jupiter will suit tourists with children. Mamaia is a resort for all tastes. For children in Mamaia there are water park and dolphinarium, for adults - spacious beaches with playgrounds for football, volleyball, with scooter rentals and so on.

Romanian hotels located on the coast have some features. In particular, despite the fact that swimming season in Romania starts in May, hotels open their doors for tourists only in mid-June. To change this situation the Romanian government is preparing a law, under which hotels will be forced to open in mid-May.

Ski holidays in Romania are available in the Carpathians hotels at such resorts as Sinaia, Busteni, Azuga and Poiana Brasov. Most mountain resorts of Romania are located an hour's drive from each other, so during the season you can try the routes of several resorts. Hotels in the Romanian mountains are also presented by large operators. Not so long ago in Sinaia was opened the first Holiday Inn in the Romanian Carpathians.

To date security is, perhaps, the main problem in Romania. The most deplorable situation is in large cities, where flourishing fraud and pocket thefts. Therefore, if a tourist stops, for example, in Bucharest, then to avoid possible problems it is better to keep documents and valuables in the hotels safe. Some problems with personal property safety are compensated by the absence of tips in Romania.
