Medelon and the Orke Water Trail

The Orke Water Trail starts and ends at the hiking portal in the centre of Medelon. The 9.5-kilometre circular route is rated easy and is open year-round. It follows the stream through meadows and floodplains and passes a geological outcrop. The route combines a waterside hike with insights into the surrounding area and how it is used.

For younger children, the route can be shortened to about 4 kilometres at a wooden bridge. There is also a playground in the centre of the village. When planning, consider both the desired route length and the needs of those hiking with you. Note the restriction for pushchairs: the route is not suitable for them.

Parking is available in the centre of Medelon; the Orketal hiking car park offers an alternative access point. Bus 361 connects Medebach, Medelon and Hallenberg. Check the current timetable before travelling, as transport information may change.
