San Martín De Unx combines Romanesque churches with wine experiences and mountain scenery that invites you to hike and cycle. When planning your stay, you can choose different focuses: architecture and sacred art, a guided walk through medieval streets, or a wine route on foot or by bike. Tasting experiences also vary in format—from regional products to pintxos.

Romanesque Churches and Historic Architecture

The Church of San Martín de Tours is a Romanesque building with expressive sculptural decoration. Its crypt lies beneath the presbytery and part of the nave. The church also contains a Romanesque baptismal font decorated with human figures. The crypt and baptismal font make the architecture tangible not only through the building’s overall form, but also through individual interior spaces and details.

Santa María del Pópulo tells a different architectural story: the church was built between the late 13th and early 14th centuries. It was built against the town wall and was part of the fortifications for a time. Those interested in the development of church architecture will find here a later religious building closely connected to the town wall, alongside the Romanesque Church of San Martín de Tours.

Wine Routes on Foot and by Bike

“Vino Románico” is a guided walk through the medieval streets of San Martín de Unx, including a tasting of a regional wine. The experience also includes the Church of San Martín de Tours and its crypt. The walk is offered as a year-round experience; check availability before your trip.

The annual Enorunx has a different focus: this wine-themed hike is 11 kilometres long and connects local wineries. Along the way, participants taste wine, pintxos, and migas; a visit to the crypt of San Martín de Tours is also included. The route and participating wineries may change from one edition to the next. Enorunx therefore differs from the guided walk through the medieval streets in its stated route length and its connection between several wineries.

For cyclists, there is the 9-kilometre “Ruta del Rosado.” It is an easy, family-friendly cycling route through vineyards used mainly for rosé wines. The landscape also includes elms and poplars along the Barranco de Torres. The route follows the service road of the Canal de Navarra. As trail conditions and signage may change, check them before setting out.

Tastings and Wine Experiences

“Alma de Unx” includes a tasting of four wines accompanied by typical regional products. The experience also includes a visit to Bodega San Martín and a 360° virtual reality experience about the winery’s more than 100-year history. The experience is planned for 2026; confirm operating dates before your trip.

“Guerinda 4 estaciones” features three wines from the “Guerinda” collection and two pintxos made with artisanal local products. The experience follows the vineyard through the four seasons. Check availability in advance. “Sed de Aventura” takes visitors by off-road vehicle to the mountain vineyards of San Martín de Unx and ends with a visit to a winery and a wine tasting. Availability and booking conditions may change.

The annual Día del Rosado combines wine tastings and routes through the wineries with cultural activities and an extensive gastronomic offering. Individual events may vary from year to year. If you plan to time your trip around the festival, check the dates and programme for that year’s edition.

Getting Around Locally

There is a municipal car park close to the main square. A designated parking area suitable for motorhomes is located next to the municipal swimming pools. San Martín de Unx is surrounded by the mountains of the Sierra de Ujué and Sierra de Guerinda; the area is suitable for hiking and cycling. This lets you plan visits to the town and outdoor activities as different priorities for your trip.
