Anti-gay group raised a claim against Holiday Inn

Anti-gay group from the USA, sued the Holiday Inn hotel, for the fact that it canceled a banquet, ordered earlier. Group members said that they were subjected to discrimination.

Representatives of the association, which calls itself «Americans for truth about homosexuality», reported that they expected such a reaction from the management of the hotel Holiday Inn Select, located in the town Nepervill. The day when representatives of the association ordered a banquet in the Holiday Inn Select another company has planned a wedding party.

Either way, the hotel considers the cancellation of the anti-gay association banquet quite legitimate. In particular, the contract between the hotel and the representatives of the movement has not been completed and an advance payment for services was not paid. Nevertheless, «Americans for truth about homosexuality» claim that the hotel has agreed about prior menus and other details. Thereat, American periodical Naperville Sun quotes the general manager of the Holiday Inn Select hotel. Commenting refusal, the hotel manager said that the decision about banquet cancellation was taken in order to protect staff and customers from possible misunderstandings. It is possible that the hotel management did not want a conflict that could arise between the members of «Americans for truth about homosexuality» and Gay Liberation Network. – society, which protects the rights of sexual minorities.

Anyways, Holiday Inn Select hotel canceled a banquet six weeks before it would take place. In the end, the union «Americans for truth about homosexuality» chose another hotel. IHG Corporation management, which owns the brand Holiday Inn Select, has not commented a possible lawsuit. At the same time representatives of IHG announced that they are very closely monitoring all complaints concerning discrimination and violation of individual rights, which come to them from the hotel network.
