Karridale: Food, Art and Karnidale 2027
Accommodation in Karridale
Karridale brings together several distinct reasons to stay: a farm-to-table restaurant and winery, an agriculturally focused small distillery, art and a site with historic industrial remains. The return of the Karnidale Festival has also been announced for 2027. If you are planning a trip and looking for a hotel, it helps to decide on your main focus first: food and wine, culture or the festival. Karridale’s offerings have different emphases, so you can take the occasion and activities into account when searching for a hotel.
Farm, wine and a menu
Glenarty Road is a small farm-to-table restaurant and winery in Karridale. Its paddock-to-plate experience combines a farm visit with a five-course menu. A progressive tasting on foot through the vines, garden and farm is also offered. The two experiences have different emphases: one explicitly combines a farm visit and a menu, while the other takes you through the three areas mentioned. If you are including food and wine in your plans, you can consider which format better suits the reason for your trip.
Spirits and bistro fare
Wild Lot Distillery is an agriculturally focused small distillery in Karridale. It produces small-batch spirits from fruit and botanicals grown on the farm or sourced locally. Its agricultural connection links its description with that of Glenarty Road, but their emphases differ: spirits production here, and a restaurant, winery and farm-to-plate offerings there. Karridale Tavern adds to the local food scene with a bar and bistro. Offerings include local craft beers, premium wines and pub dishes with a Middle Eastern touch.
Art and historic industrial remains
Oriel Karridale Gallery is the gallery and working studio of Welsh artist Heather G Lowe-Sims. Her work spans textiles, painting and mixed media. Davies Park & Foundry Chimney offers a different focus: the site includes the remains of a furnace chimney, a kiln and a steam engine, set amid regenerating forest. In Karridale, an artistic focus and a site with industrial remains therefore offer different cultural interests.
Karnidale Festival 2027
In its 19th year, the recurring Karnidale Festival returns to Karridale in 2027. Acts include acrobatics and aerial performances. The daytime program also features circus performances, workshops, the Circus Olympics, live bands and regional food. The festival offers a different focus from a stay planned mainly around food and wine or the art venues.
Cottage accommodation and event venue
Karridale Cottages & Hop Farm offers cottage accommodation in a natural bushland setting. The property also has an event venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions on a 25-hectare working hop farm. The cottages and the venue address different planning needs: accommodation for a stay and a setting for a celebration. If you are looking for a hotel, you can consider these as a separate type of accommodation rather than equating them with hotels.
