Woodanilling brings walks, green spaces and sports facilities together in one place. The short Woodanilling Heritage Walk loops around the town centre; the Prime Ministers’ Pathway explores the history of Australian prime ministers. Centenary Park and the Woodanilling Recreation Precinct complement these offerings with play and sports facilities. Their different focuses help you assess Woodanilling based on which activities you would like to include in your stay.

Walks and historical themes

The Woodanilling Heritage Walk opened in 2008 and consists of 13 panels along a short route around the town centre. The panels and route give the walk a manageable scope: the number of stops is clearly specified, and the route is described as short. This makes it easy to include the Heritage Walk as a compact activity in your plans.

The Prime Ministers’ Pathway also offers a walk, but with a different focus: its panels cover the history of Australian prime ministers since Federation. The Pathway is in the centre of Woodanilling. When comparing the two walks, different points of reference come to the fore: the Heritage Walk’s 13 panels and short route around the town centre, and the Prime Ministers’ Pathway’s historical theme of prime ministers.

Park and sports

Centenary Park is in the centre of the Woodanilling townsite. It has an adventure playground with play equipment, as well as a skatepark area. These facilities offer two different leisure activities. The park also has an electric barbecue available for public use free of charge. If you plan to use specific facilities or the barbecue during your visit, check their current availability beforehand; facilities and availability may change.

Opposite Centenary Park stands a Salmon Gum, whose height is stated to be more than 34 metres. The Woodanilling Recreation Precinct also offers specific options to consider when planning: there are tennis courts and a field for hockey and cricket on Yairabin Street. Tennis and the two field sports offer different focuses. If you would like to use any of these facilities, check their current availability as well.
