Wine, lunch and tastings
Rivendell Winery serves lunch from Thursday to Sunday between 11:30 am and 3:00 pm. Paid wine tastings are available there until 4:30 pm. As service hours may change, it is a good idea to check the latest information before visiting.
At the GOON|TYCOONS cellar door, visitors can explore the wine selection and enjoy artisan goat cheese as well as organic cow’s milk cheese from Margaret River. The producer focuses on single-vineyard wines, lesser-known grape varieties and minimalist winemaking. Its wines are made in small batches using grapes from across Western Australia. Mongrel Creek is a small, family-run winery on the outskirts of Dunsborough in the Margaret River Wine Region, focused on winemaking.
Coffee, chocolate and regional produce
Commonage Coffee Co & Yallingup Chocolate offers a café and roastery serving hot drinks and food. It roasts specialty coffees from around the world. The small family business offers sweet treats. Visitors can discover locally made chocolate, rock candy and distinctive gifts. A shady tree also provides a place to relax.
Workshops, galleries and special places
At the John Streater Fine Furniture workshop and gallery, visitors can watch furniture being made by looking into the workshop. John Streater built the gallery himself in the 1980s. Its walls are made from solid jarrah and limestone from the South West. Alongside furniture, the gallery displays woodturning and glasswork, as well as children’s puzzles, jewellery and ceramics by artists and makers.
Botanik Yallingup is located in a historic, carefully renovated old stable. Its range includes native skincare products, artisan soaps, bush teas and handmade gifts. The offerings span furniture making and art through to skincare products and souvenirs.
Lucy Isaacs Graveyard is at the site of the second timber mill in Yallingup Siding. The place is associated with Sam Isaacs, known as “georgette”, and the early timber industry in the South West. Three generations of the Isaacs family are buried in the cemetery. Aravina Estate’s surf and car gallery is free to visit. As visitor arrangements may change, it is best to check the latest information in advance.
Cycling: distance and route
The Commonage Road Trail is 10 kilometres long, ends at Wildwood Road in Yallingup Siding and is available year-round. A Saturday road-cycling group ride heads mostly downhill southeast through Yallingup Siding and Yelverton, crosses Bussell Highway towards Vasse, and then returns to Dunsborough. The trail’s distance and endpoint provide useful orientation; for the group ride, the specific features are the Saturday schedule, mostly flat terrain and route.
