Discover Řitka
Accommodation in Řitka
These different points of interest can help you plan your stay around your interests. You can also take travel arrangements into account before looking for a hotel for your trip.
Local History and Horse Riding
For travellers interested in horse riding, Lata Brandisová offers a specific historical connection. She was the only woman to have won the Velká Pardubická to date and spent part of her life at Řitka Castle. The Lata Brandis Museum can be visited by prior telephone arrangement. The stables and facilities of Jezdecký klub Norma can also be visited by prior arrangement. Confirm the current arrangements for visits before your trip. The two visits differ in their focus: the museum is named after Lata Brandis, while the riding club visit centres on its stables and facilities.
The settlement’s history can also be dated: in 1387 it was recorded as “villa Lhotka, dikta Rzitka”; by 1416 at the latest, it was called Řitka. This sequence places the settlement’s early names in the late 14th and early 15th centuries and adds the history of the place itself to the other historical points of interest.
Chapel in the Village Square
A chapel dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk has stood in the village square since around the beginning of the 19th century. In more recent years, devotions in honour of the saint have traditionally been held there in May. If you would like to plan your visit around a service, check the current dates locally. The chapel’s dating provides a historical connection; for a visit timed to a service, however, the specific date is what matters. This lets you consider the building’s history and the seasonal occasion separately when planning.
At Rybník Řitka
Grassy banks at Rybník Řitka provide easy access right down to the water. Public sport fishing is also possible, subject to the current local fishing rules. Access to the banks and a fishing visit are separate planning considerations: the banks make it easier to reach the water, while local rules govern sport fishing. If you plan to fish there, take the applicable regulations into account.
Plan Your Journey
Suburban bus routes 317, 321, 318 and 320 connect Řitka with Prague; they are operated by the Martin Uher transport company. From Prague, you can also take a train to Dobřichovice station and then continue by bus 448. The two options differ in their sequence of transport: the suburban bus routes connect Řitka with Prague, while the other connection involves a train to Dobřichovice followed by bus 448. Check the current timetables before setting off so you can plan your journey around your travel date.
