Drahobudice offers two distinct highlights for your trip: local history, with an archaeological site, church and ossuary, and the Vavřinecká dvacítka cycling route. A protected lime tree adds to the character of the village.

Archaeological Site and Church

The archaeological site is located right in the village on a hill near the Church of the Holy Trinity, in the Na Valech area. It is classified as a significant archaeological site in category ÚAN I. Its features include a ditch and indistinct remains of ramparts. The hill and ditch are part of the site; the nearby church is a separate historical landmark.

The Church of the Holy Trinity was built in 1753–1754 in the Late Baroque style by I. J. Palliardi. It stands on the site of an older church of Gothic origin. Several Renaissance tombstones from the earlier church are set into the former cemetery wall. The history of the church site thus spans several periods: the Gothic origins of its predecessor, Renaissance tombstones from the earlier church, and the Late Baroque rebuilding in the 18th century.

Ossuary and Fresco

The ossuary stands behind the presbytery on the east side of the church. A fresco dating from 1765 is preserved inside, depicting Christ on the cross, the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Evangelist. The fresco dates from just over a decade after the church was built, providing a separate chronological reference point in the history of the village.

The Protected Lime Tree

The Lípa v Drahobudicích lime tree is protected for its exceptional growth, aesthetic value and role as a prominent landmark. A 2009 measurement records its height as 17 metres, its trunk circumference as 284 centimetres, and its crown as 14 metres high and 13 metres wide. The figures distinguish the tree’s height, trunk circumference and crown measurements; they all refer to 2009. In the 2009 measurement, the crown was one metre taller than it was wide; the tree itself was three metres taller than the crown.

Drahobudice on the Cycling Route

The 22-kilometre Vavřinecká dvacítka circular cycling route starts and ends in Zásmuky and passes through Drahobudice at kilometre 15. The section through the village leads to a detour to the local church, before continuing between fields on a flat stretch towards Bečváry. The route follows footpaths, forest tracks and paved roads. The 22 kilometres refer to the entire loop, while kilometre 15 marks the passage through Drahobudice; this helps you place the village section within the longer ride. If you are planning the loop, check the current route and conditions before setting out, as conditions may change.
