Husí Lhota – Local History and Cycling Route
Accommodation in Husí Lhota
Local history, landscape features, and a specific MTB circuit offer various ways to explore Husí Lhota during a stay. The construction dates of the chapel, bell tower, hunting lodge, and farmsteads tell of different building phases; alongside them are former forest boundaries, preserved ponds, and a route that passes through the village.
Location and travel
Husí Lhota lies about 11 km from Mladá Boleslav, in the direction of Jičín and near Český ráj. The approximate distance and regional connection to Český ráj place the village in context from two different perspectives: Mladá Boleslav provides a distance reference, while Český ráj is a nearby regional landmark. For travel by bus, the Husí Lhota stop is a specific point of reference: according to the PID stop list as of June 2026, it is served by routes 714 and 736. The stop list is current as of June 2026, so check the timetable for your travel date and plan around the available service.
Proximity to Český ráj places Husí Lhota in its regional context. The chapel, farmsteads, and ponds, by contrast, describe the village itself.
Chapel, bell tower, and farmsteads
St. Anne’s Chapel was built on the village green in 1823, with financial support from the residents of Husí Lhota and Jan Tichý. The bell tower beside the chapel was built in 1862 and remains unchanged to this day. The chapel was expanded in 1908. The bell tower therefore marks an intermediate building phase between the chapel’s construction and its expansion.
A hunting lodge was built in 1849 and stands at what is now house number 3. Two farmsteads, which still exist today, were built in the same year. The “Poplužní dvůr” was a founding building. Unlike the chapel’s multi-phase history, the hunting lodge and farmsteads share a single construction year. This comparison highlights different historical reference points: several building phases for the chapel and several structures from the same year.
Landscape and cycling route
In the past, forests extended on the northern side as far as the village buildings. Some ponds in Husí Lhota have been preserved to this day. The former forest landscape and the surviving ponds offer different perspectives on the passage of time. If you are interested in how the rural surroundings have developed, these landscape features add another perspective to the dated buildings.
A tour description current as of 2026 lists the 51 km MTB circuit “Ml. Boleslav–Branžež–Dlouhá Lhota–Ml. Boleslav” as very easy and routes it through Husí Lhota. Its length and difficulty rating give you specific details to help plan the ride. The rating applies to this MTB circuit; trail conditions and signage may change. Check both before setting out.
If local history is your main interest, the construction dates and landscape features offer different subjects to explore. If you would like to plan a cycling circuit, you can use the stated distance and difficulty rating as a guide and check conditions before setting out.
