Kondrac: Church, Museum and Trails to Blaník

St. Bartholomew’s Church in Kondrac introduces a long, clearly dated building history. It was originally a Romanesque building from the period after 1200. The presbytery and sacristy date from around 1380; in 1735, the church was rebuilt. These three dates alone provide a particularly vivid insight into the historical development of the locality.

Culture

The St. Bartholomew’s church complex in Kondrac is a state-protected immovable cultural monument. The church does not stand alone, but is also connected with the exhibitions of the Farní muzeum Kondrac. The museum comprises three exhibitions. Its main exhibition presents the life of the rural clergy around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, thereby focusing on a social world between two centuries.

Another exhibition in the former mortuary of the Farní muzeum Kondrac deals with the history of St. Bartholomew’s Church. For visitors interested in culture, Kondrac therefore places both the architectural history of a building with Romanesque origins and a museum with various exhibition themes at the centre of attention. The historical perspective extends from medieval church architecture to the world of the rural clergy at the turn of the 20th century.

Nature

The southern part of the municipality of Kondrac belongs to the designated Blaník Protected Landscape Area, a large protected area. A further connection with Blaník is provided by the Dům přírody Blaníku, which offers playful elements for children. Nature conservation and child-friendly interpretation thus represent two different aspects of the surrounding area.

Things to do

The “Po stopách blanických rytířů” educational trail runs for 2 kilometres from Kondrac via Krasovice to the foot of Velký Blaník. At four stations, the trail provides information about the history of the individual localities as well as a series of legends about the Blaník knights. Local history and legendary traditions accompany the same route here from Kondrac via Krasovice towards Blaník.

The “Naučná stezka Kondrac–Krasovice–úpatí Blaníku” educational trail is 2.5 kilometres long and leads from the village square in Kondrac to the foot of Blaník. This educational trail has four stations and passes through a picturesque landscape crossed by a system of ponds. The trail description thus combines a specific starting point in the village with stations and a landscape characterised by ponds.

The “Naučná stezka Rok na vsi” educational trail is accessible year-round. For your personal planning, the described trails can be compared by length, number of stations, thematic focus and accessibility throughout the year. These criteria organise culture, nature, local history, legends and child-friendly elements without presupposing any additional characteristics of the routes.

When comparing hotels in Kondrac, you can check travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions side by side on the offer pages. The three fields give your own planning a clear structure, while church architecture, the museum, the landscape and the educational trails remain separate points of reference.
