Konětopy: Village Green, Forested Slope and Jezero

Konětopy combines a historic village center with a landscape shaped by the forested slope of Dlouhý běh and the lakes of Jezero Konětopy. This offers several points of interest for planning your trip: the village’s established layout, its location on the hill and the seasonal opportunities by the water. Jezero Konětopy lies between Konětopy and Dřísy.

The historic village center

The village layout still shows the junction of important roads leading to Čečelice, Sudovo Hlavno and Dřísy. A central village green with farmsteads and a pond developed at this junction. A village green is a central open space in a settlement; in Konětopy, it forms part of the described village center together with the farmsteads and pond. The road junction helps place its development in context: the green was established where the roads met. Forested slope and lakes

Konětopy lies at the foot of the wooded southwestern slope of Dlouhý běh hill. Jezero Konětopy offers a different landscape feature: its lakes lie between Konětopy and Dřísy. Along one side, the area borders a forest for a length of about 950 m. This is an approximate figure and refers to this stretch along the forest. The landscape features can therefore be distinguished: the forested slope describes the village’s location on the hill, while Jezero, with its lakes and adjoining forest, forms a separate part of the surrounding landscape. Summer recreation and activities by the water

Jezero Konětopy offers a pleasant setting for summer recreation. Swimming and sunbathing are available at the lake; access and facilities may vary seasonally. Check the conditions for your intended dates before visiting. Fishing is possible at both lakes during much of the year. Fishing permits and seasonal conditions may change, so it is advisable to check in advance what options are available at the time. Cycling route and paddleboard rental

Cycling route No. 8162 runs north to south along existing roads through Hostín, Košátky, Konětopy, Dřísy and Lhota. Its direction and the places named give you an overview of the route described. If you plan to use the route, check conditions before setting out.

On 29 June 2025, a paddleboard rental was open next to the ticket office at Jezero Konětopy. If you would like to include paddleboarding in your trip plans, check in advance whether the rental will be open on the day of your visit.
