Lichoceves: Landscape, Culture and Cycling
Accommodation in Lichoceves
Lichoceves lies on the western edge of Prague in gently rolling countryside that is considered a recreational area. There are several perspectives to consider when planning your trip: cycling in the surrounding area, cultural history in Noutonice, and practical information about routes and visiting conditions. This lets you tailor your stay to your interests in the landscape, history or activities.
Landscape and protected area
The countryside around Lichoceves offers very good conditions for cycling tourism. This refers to the surrounding area in general. The Okolà Okoře a Budče Nature Park remains a valid protected-area designation, established by Regulation No. 3/2011 of the Central Bohemian Region. As of 25 August 2026, the regulation was listed as valid in the state register of legislation.
The boundary of the Okolà Okoře Nature Park must be taken into account in the land-use plan for the municipality of Lichoceves–Noutonice. The protected-area designation and the consideration of its boundary in municipal planning are two distinct landscape-related points of reference.
On foot or by bike
The “Od Okoře k Vltavě” (From Okoř to the Vltava) tourist trail connects the member municipalities of the municipal association, including Lichoceves. You can explore it on foot or by bike. Unlike the general description of cycling, this trail provides a specific connection and names both possible ways to travel.
The trail description was published in 2024. Check the route information again before setting out so you can plan your trip accordingly.
Cultural history in Noutonice
The Church of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist in Noutonice was remodelled into its present form in 1682 by Abbess Anna Mechthilda Schenweisová von Eckstein. The year refers to the remodelling that gave it its present appearance, providing a clear historical point of reference for travellers interested in church and local history.
Visiting the cemetery
Noutonice Cemetery is open to the public daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. between 1 April and 31 October. It has three freely accessible entrances, and 17 parking spaces are available at the cemetery. This gives visitors both a seasonal visiting period and specific access points to plan around.
Check the opening hours and parking options again before your visit. The church and cemetery in Noutonice offer different points of interest: the church focuses on the history of its remodelling, while the cemetery’s seasonal opening hours and entrances are important for planning your visit.
Horse riding
A horse-riding lesson may include a guided ride through the countryside. Plan to book in advance. Pony rides for children up to 15 years old may take place outdoors or in the riding hall. Check in advance whether your preferred activity is available.
